Timeline of her albums
I chose Selena as my thinker because she was an inspirational woman. She was a proud feminist and she was also one of the few successful women in a music industry that had male artists dominating the charts. Even when she was becoming very well know, she stayed humble, That is the type of person I want to be. I want to be a positive role model for other women, and above all, I want to stay humble to my roots, my friends, and my family.
The first quote I chose says, "The impossible is possible". This quote means that anything is possible. Anything can happen. Everything is possible to do. Nothing is impossible because everything is possible. I agree with her quote because we are all capable of doing anything we set our minds to.
The second quote I connect with says, "Although my Spanish is a little weak, I feel that I am Mexican and I'm proud of my roots." Selena is saying that even though she can't speak Spanish really well, she still considers herself to be Mexican. I connect to this quote because even though I don't know almost anything about Mexico and it's history, I still consider myself to be Mexican than American.
The third quote I chose says, "I'm spoiled to the sense that now I get what I want but it's because I work for it." What this quote is saying is that the only reason she has everything and everything she wants is because she worked really hard to be in the position she was in. The reason I chose this quote was because that is one of my main goals in life. I want to be so successful that I will be able to buy myself and my parents the things that we want and need.
The last quote I chose is actually her philosophy. She said, "My philosophy could be resumed as: Life would be very boring if people don't try to do new things". This means that if no one tried anything new or stepped out of their comfort zone, the world would have been very boring because nothing would have been invented. I agree with Selena because if suddenly everyone decided to not try something new, we would keep having the same technology for ever and ever.
